Today's Email Scam. 4-30-2013

This one looks good. No mention of how much money AND they want to come along. What could possibly go wrong?

"Hello,

I am miss Joy Kruger from South Africa and I am contacting you because I need your help in management of some amount that my father left for me before he died.

My father was a very rich cocoa/timber farmer but was poisoned by his business colleagues and they are now after me so i hard to escape my way into a church here in Republic of Benin.

Please indicate if you’re interested in taking me along because my present condition here is critically frustrating.

Am waiting."

Let me know if you want their email address :)

The scary thing is, they keep sending this stuff over and over. Evidently they are getting some replies! OH MY!

I get about 20 of these a week. Never have responded to one. With all the money supposedly coming my way I am up there with Gates and Buffett. Probably deleted this one this week.

Well that's a new one Eric.  "Critically Frustrating"?  That sounds bad.  Someone needs to help these poor people out...

I have had a few e-mail addresses for about four or five years now and they have served me well. Not much spam at all, up until about three months ago. Not sure why, or what I might have signed up for that sold my e-mail address, but for the past three months a few of my emails have been getting spammed every day.

Something that I do to cut down on spam that I recommend to others. In example: (replace "Name" with your name")

Social Networks: SocialName@gmail.com

Spam Sites: SpamName@gmail.com

Business Sites: BusinessName@gmail.com

By simply creating an email with what the email is for (i.e. social networks, spam, business) and then your first name after it. It allows you to easily remember what email address to sign up using, and to keep things more organized.

Joni, they're playing the numbers. They probably send out millions in the hopes that a few respond.

Bill, I was just digging through my spam folder to see if I missed anything "good."

Jim, it won't be me, pal. lol

David, I guess they go where the money is?

Yoni, that's a good idea. I have an email address that's TheOneToGiveOut@xxxxx.com for anything that I just need to plug an email address in.

Eric - it has to be a numbers game -- someone must bite enough times out of a million requests for it to continue, right?
