Real Estate, etc... by Eric Michael: A Bonfire vs. The Red Wings

A Bonfire vs. The Red Wings

A Bonfire vs. The Red Wings

I have a dilemma.

It's Saturday evening on a holiday weekend, and I have a choice to make.

My kids want to have a Bonfire in the backyard tonight. You know, invite their friends over, have smores. That kind of stuff.

Sounds like fun, right?

Here's the problem.

My Detroit Red Wings are playing the Chicago Blackhawks tonight at 8.

Playoff hockey vs. kids having fun.

Wings are up 3-1 in this series (that everyone said they'd get blown out, by the way), so they could close out this round tonight.

Wait a minute.

The kids are off school Monday because of the holiday.

Crisis averted.

Bonfire will happen tomorrow night!

Have a fantastic weekend, everyone.

Go Wings!

Well you could have moved the flat screen out into the patio area and watched if from there. Of course you can't get personal with the game if you are constantly being distracted. Nope! Your solution is better!

Sussie, my daughter suggested bringing the tv outside. It'll have to wait until tomorrow.

You darn Red Wing fans.  I can't begin to tell you how painful it was to be in the Washington Capitals arena for game four of the Stanley Cup, knowing the Red Wings were going to sweep.  Had you not averted the crisis, I would have totally voted bonfire.

Great compromise, everyone gets what they want. That's a smart dad.

Chris Ann, are you talking about 1998? My brother and I were going to go to Game 4, but I couldn't get the day off work. I'm still angry about it!

Judi, thanks. I appreciate it.
